Our “storm emergency” response teams set up by the Group to help its North American customers

In 2020, the United States experienced major weather events (30 storms including 6 major hurricanes) which affected its entire electricity grid, from the Atlantic to the Pacific coast.

In response to these events, the Group set up its Emergency Storm Rapid Response Team (ESRRT) to respond to and assist its North American customers.

Central Louisana Electric (CLECO), which suffered damage caused by Hurricane Laura, was urgently supplied with 500 connectors by the Group’s teams, thus avoiding any interruption to the restoration work.

In response to Tropical Storm Isaias, ESRRT took action with the help of Cicame Energie (Canada), Sicame Pompadour and based on stock availability in the United States to provide its customer with enough products in a timely manner to help restore the grid and restore power to thousands of residents.

Hurricane Zeta wreaked havoc to coastal power grids in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. ESRRT supplied specific Kortick equipment for coastal areas using its ArmorGalv® thermal diffusion galvanization technology, thus helping Entergy restore power and rebuild with more durable components.
