Sicame India & SM-CI have successfully participated in a major government project in India

KFON, Kerala Fiber Optical Network, is a government project to make Internet access a priority in the state of Kerala, on the South- West coast of India. 

This ambitious plan aims to provide free Internet access to approximately 1.2 million families living below the poverty line as well as to schools, hospitals and government offices. The network infrastructure connects the State administration to all urban and rural areas with bandwidth of up to 100 Mbps. 

This significant multi-million euro contract for Sicame India includes the supply of accessories for telecom cables over a period of 18 months, with the first phase of the project commissioned and inaugurated in February 2021. 

For the Sicame Group, this is a successful demonstration of the diversity of our product portfolio and French technology for a major project in the APAC region and in the telecoms sector. 

The project is the result of well-cooDRinated efforts over two years between Sicame India and SM-CI.
